1. Who we are

GTMArena is operated by seekwhens GmbH, the company behind Compelling (compelling.ai) and the data controller for this site. We are a German company and process personal data under the GDPR. For full legal details, see our Impressum.

We built GTMArena to be data-minimal by design. We collect only what a feature needs, and we do not sell personal data or run third-party advertising trackers.

2. What we collect, and why

Waitlist

If you join the waitlist, we store the email address and name you enter, plus any optional company or role you add, to contact you about early access. Legal basis: consent.

Price submissions (receipts)

When you submit what you pay a vendor, we store the vendor, amount, plan details you describe, and any invoice or screenshot you attach, to build the community price index. Submissions are anonymous unless you add your email for a verified badge. Attached files are kept in private storage and are not publicly accessible. Legal basis: consent and our legitimate interest in a community price index.

pricing.md generator

When you generate a pricing.md, we store the URL you enter, the vendor domain, and the generated markdown so the result can be shown and cached. To prevent abuse of this free tool, we keep a salted, one-way hash of your IP address (never the IP itself) solely to count requests per hour; that hash is automatically deleted once the one-hour rate-limit window passes. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in preventing abuse.

Analytics (opt-in)

If you accept analytics in the cookie banner, we load Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and stores nothing on your device. It measures aggregate page views only; we strip query strings so URLs you paste are never recorded. It stays off until you opt in and stops if you withdraw consent. Legal basis: consent.

3. What we do not collect

  • We do not store your IP address, only a short-lived salted hash of it for rate-limiting
  • We do not collect precise location data
  • We do not use advertising or marketing trackers
  • We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data
  • We do not build cross-site profiles of you

4. Processors and where data is handled

We use a small number of processors to run the service, each under a data-processing agreement:

  • Supabase — database and file storage for submissions and generated content
  • Vercel — hosting and cookieless analytics (opt-in)
  • Anthropic — the AI model that turns a pricing page into markdown (US-based; data may be transferred to the United States under standard contractual clauses)
  • Bright Data — the browser service that loads a vendor page during generation

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access to personal data is restricted to what operating the service requires.

5. How long we keep it

  • Rate-limit IP hashes: deleted automatically after one hour
  • Waitlist and email contacts: until you ask us to remove them or we retire the list
  • Price submissions and generated pricing.md: kept as part of the public index/tool until no longer needed or you request removal

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email us at the address below. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

7. Cookies and local storage

We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. We store a few items in your browser's local storage to make the site work:

  • Your cookie/consent choices, so we can honour them
  • Your currency preference (USD or EUR)
  • A temporary copy of a price submission, so it is not lost if a submission fails

These stay on your device and are not sent to advertisers.
